Anyone want to make a renewed stab at a finishing number after adjustments?  To the nearest .1 of a degree?

That would suit me fine!  But it could be anywhere between 14.2 and 14.6.

12z GFS gives me a final CET estimate of 14.2°C when starting with the provisional value.

I'd not be surprised if that provisional was at least a tenth too high, though. Actual finish could be as low as 13.9°C but most likely in the 14.0-14.1°C range.

We're talking very close to the 1981-2010 average - so much warmth eroded away by a cool final third!

An end of month cool down is helping me for a 2nd month in a row then.
Have just returned from a week in Greece and really shocked at how temperatures have dropped off in that time .

I'm starting to wonder if 13.9 might be possible for this September? Guess it will depend how big the downwards correction is assuming we get one this month?

So another 0.1C off yesterday. Think we can assume we'll get another 0.1C off today given how cool and damp it is in the Midlands. That gets us to 14.2C before downwards corrections.

So whether we get to 13.9C will depend on how big the downwards correction is this month (if we get one at all)

Has certainly been another very impressive CET collapse in this final week or so...

Indeed Gavin!  The final week has had a great impact.   Considering the further we get into a month, the less effect a few days temperature change has, it just goes to show how much the temp has fallen this week.
