It's April Fool's Day, although I'm not sure how relevant this is just now, given everything which is happening in the world.

Nevertheless, the Sun is shining here in Edinburgh at times which at least makes it a reasonable day for getting in that limited amount of walking which we are all allowed to do here in the UK.

Normally, I would look at those other reports of an air frost in other parts of the country and think that this must be some form of April Fool's joke, especially since the temperature in this part of the world dropped to no lower than 5.1°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank and 5.4°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh during the overnight period.

However, this is the most boring part of the country which I live in where virtually nothing that is even remotely "interesting" in terms of our weather, ever happens even though the weather might be far more interesting elsewhere, so those other reports are probably right enough.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 7am this morning was around 5°C here in Edinburgh.

I've noticed that some people are using yesterday's CC thread instead of this one.

With that in mind, could everyone please make sure that they are posting their current observations into the correct thread (ideally, a mod should be locking previous cc threads which are no longer valid).

Anyway and back on topic, I am just relaxing and listening to Gavin P.'s first ever midweek live stream whilst the current weather remains bright with some sunshine at times, but also some cloud.

A total of 2.0 hours of sunshine has been recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 2pm this afternoon with a temperature of around 10°C.
