I don't think  it ticks  either the "necessary" or "exercise" boxes but I suppose being solitary there isn't much of a risk.  My contrast, having a brief chat with my neighbour (from opposite sides of the road) and he saw a group of similar taking advantage of  an abandoned golf course site.  He thought it was all OK, until  fro some unexplainable reason they all swapped helmets

My complaints about the current government in the current crisis are:

1) Lack of testing

2) Poor and muddled communication (although to be fair the scientists have probably made things worse by speaking too frequently)

3) Lack of PPE

On the plus side they have moved quickly to mitigate some of the economic impacts. They are also pulling the levers in the NHS and trying to make things happen. Unfortunately that gets to my main bone of contention which is the NHS itself. For decades politicians of all colours have refused to discuss provision of healthcare in a grown up way in the UK.

Yes I agree. I do wonder sometimes if we have been brought up to and revert back to having more due reverence to the upper classes with their reassuring voices and optimistic promises. All very reassuring but I'm not totally certain that the delivery in terms of action would be any different with Labour but I certainly would rather listen to Johnson.. This is our much maligned Civil Service and private industry stepping up to the plate more I think.

Some great news on ITV tonight. Mercedes F1 engineers in conjunction with NHS experts have got a new respirator made from start to finish in 10 days. 100 made, one in use and being tested by regulator now. A thousand a week manufacturing capability by next week. And these will possibly reduce the need for ventilators by 50%. Fantastic achievement.

Today my client company extended the WFH message to end of April. It's a strange place to work now as there are virtually no staff, just occasional visits alongside a receptionist, cleaner and receptionist. The usual 150 people are reduced to 10 at most and in today's case just 1!

The building remains "open" for critical use as the project it houses relates to the provision of communication equipment to the Emergency Services so it is essential on those grounds.

It would have to be a cross party ‘board’ that looks after it’s interests and not the party of government at the time.

I think this crisis will bring about change across the board.

Wouldn't that be good.

It's difficult to think of a better way of spreading it around really

I think an emergency measure should be a free licence to kill trail bikers.

Nothing to do with coronavirus, mind.

I realise the government have a difficult task, near impossible at times. But this is is their job - No government should ever not assume the next crisis is very far away.

Im pleased they give daily updates, and these are an important steps forward and the government are now moving in the right direction with many things.

However, while you have frontline workers still saying they are not adequately protected it’s our duty to call this out. Positive platitudes are all well an good, but these are no good if we don’t have the basic equipment for our fantastic health workers to do their job. A number of weeks now we have been promised this is coming - and it must. The government should not be above criticism even in a crisis.

I don’t want to argue. We are all approaching this crisis in different ways.

That is fair enough on the PPE especially, because it has been promised for a long time but on the news tonight there were a lot of front line workers clearly getting very upset about it. This is where the Government has to be honest and not raise false expectations, even when they are trying as hard as possible for it to be true.
