This morning has got off to a very foggy start here in Edinburgh with yet more of that easterly muck coming in from off the North Sea.

In addition to that, today has also got off to a rather damp start once again. There has also been some light rain at times during the night and as a result of that, a total of 1.6 mm of rain has been recorded at Edinburgh Gogarbank since 9am yesterday morning, along with 1.0 mm at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh as at 7am this morning.

One thing which we don't have just now is any sort of diurnal temperature range and so, last night's officially recorded minimum temperature was 6.4°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank and 6.5°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 7am this morning was around 7°C here in Edinburgh.

Mist started to fall at daybreak, so we didn’t see the sunrise but it thawed the frost. Temp rising and sun shining now.

A dreich day again up here, cold and gloomy with drizzle. It's been around 7 C for last 24 hrs. Under normal circumstances i would have decamped to the Lakes to social distance myself from the North Sea but I can't 😢

Clear and sunny, but very hazy towards the horizon, light and intermittent NE breeze.

7.1*C (no frost overnight here), 79%RH; 1025.1mb steady.

Signs of spring: cherry trees in full bloom, and some hedgerow bushes (hawthorn, I think) coming into leaf - great to see this.  Though it looks as though spring progress will be on hold for the next few days.

Another beautiful day, what a week this has been, perfect gardening weather, long may it continue.

Today another cloudless sky, warm and no breeze, perfect. Temp currently 13.5 but feels warmer.

Today is a day which has improved only at a painfully slow rate.

The earlier fog very quickly lifted into mist and low cloud, but that mist has only just recently cleared.

The clouds are now starting to break up slightly but in the end for the second day running, nothing in the way of sunshine was recorded for today at Edinburgh Gogarbank.

That makes today our second completely sunless day of this month and our second sunless day of this spring.

This leaves us still needing a minimum total of at least 6.8 hours of sunshine during the rest of this month, and there are now only 4 days left to that to happen, so time is really beginning to run out now which means that we really need to start getting more sunshine virtually from now on, if we are to finally get over that finishing line.

There has also been some light rain and drizzle during today which has cleared away now, but which has resulted in a total of 0.6 mm of rain being recorded at Edinburgh Gogarbank since 9am this morning, along with 0.8 mm at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Furthermore, the temperature during today have also been refusing to rise once again. Today's officially recorded maximum temperature was 6.6°C which is less than 1°C above last night's officially recorded minimum temperature.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 6pm this evening remains stuck at around 7°C here in Edinburgh as it has been for the last day or so.
