It has now finally stopped raining here in Edinburgh and there was even a few patches of blue sky which started to appear later on this afternoon.

In the end though, nothing in the way of sunshine was recorded for today at Edinburgh Gogarbank. Today is now the third day on the trot that there has been no recorded sunshine at Edinburgh Gogarbank and that as a result, is now starting to get a bit ridiculous and beyond a joke.

Today was the third completely sunless day of this month and the 7th sunless day of this autumn.

Since the rain has got lighter and more sporadic over time though, today's rainfall total so as at 7pm this evening for the current observation day which started at 09:00 UTC is 3.0 mm at Edinburgh Gogarbank and 6.0 mm at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Today's maximum temperature at Edinburgh Gogarbank was 10.9°C and the temperature at 7pm this evening was around 10°C here in Edinburgh with the temperatures already refusing to drop.

The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.
