Been belting it down here in wirral for the past 2 hrs.

Dumped about 20mm (i suspect more as it was pretty torrential) just driven the motorway and was large puddles everywhere if not flooding.

Will be some people caught out by this tonight, flooding will be in the news tomorrow

Light to moderate rain is currently falling here in Edinburgh at the end of what has been yet another boring and uneventful day here in Edinburgh.

The result of this is that in the end, the really abysmal total of just 42 minutes of sunshine was recorded for the whole of today ar Edinburgh Gogarbank.

Since this is nowhere near enough to bring this month's sunshine total at Edinburgh Gogarbank up to the 1981-2010 September average, this month will now go down as being duller than average overall which is very disappointing indeed when you consider that this month looking like a dead cert to end up being significantly sunnier than average up until around a week or so ago.

Today's maximum temperature at Edinburgh Gogarbank was 13.9°C and the temperature at 7pm this evening was around 11°C here in Edinburgh.

The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.
