There was some heavy rain around for a while earlier on this morning, but that has cleared away to leave us with a lot of cloud and the odd glimpse of the Sun.

A total of 4.8 mm of rain has been recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank along with 3.2 mm at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh, so today will go down as another official rain day at both of those stations as a result.

Last night's overnight minimum temperature at Edinburgh Gogarbank was 12.6°C and the temperature at 7am this morning was around 14°C here in Edinburgh.

Dull, windy and of course has been raining for some time thus amounting to 8.8 mm so far, which is short of expectations and still not enough to properly soak into the baked hard topsoil. 

A more "seasonal" 16.1 c with a fresh southerly wind adding to the freshness. Still not needing to have the heating on though as it'll only serve to make it feel sticky indoors.
