Been a bright & fair day so far with sunny spells and partial cloud. I did the garden in full sunshine for an hour, then right in the last 5 minutes before finishing it it went all cloudy as a cumulus street formed over us. That was half an hour ago and the same cumulus street is still stuck over us.

And thus the current 20.6 c & 53% h are feeling cool in a mod W breeze whereas it felt summer-like warm in the sunshine earlier on (today's max being 22.7 at 1.30 pm - half an hour ago).

The last few days here have been so boring in terms of our weather, that I didn't believe that it was worthwhile evn posting anything here as a result.

Today hadn't been all that different either until we ended up getting a heavy downpour during this afternoon which was torrential at times, with some hailstone mixed in with that as well.

The end result of that alone, is that a total of 5.0 mm of rain has now been recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 3pm this afternoon along with 2.2 mm at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh which means that today will now go down as an official rain day at both of those stations as a result (believe it or not though, that's only the first official rain day which we've in the last few days).

Today's sunshine total is a bit disappointing as well. Yesterday, a total of 6.4 hours of sunshine was recorded in the end at Edinburgh Gogarbank. However, a total of just 2.7 hours of sunshine has been recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 3pm this afternoon.

There was also a very sharp drop in the temperature once that heavy rain came alone ans at 3pm, the temperature had dropped to a rather dismal 14°C here in Edinburgh from around 18°C just over an hour ago.

There was a bit more in the way of sunshine during this afternoon and evening. The result of this is that in the end, a total of 5.7 hours of sunshine was recorded for today at Edinburgh Gogarbank.

Today's rainfall totals so far as at 10pm tonight are 5.0 mm at Edinburgh Gogarbank and 3.2 mm at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Today's maximum temperature at Edinburgh Gogarbank was 18.2°C and the temperature at 10pm tonight was around 12°C here in Edinburgh.
