There's more in the way of cloud around this morning than what there was at the same time during yesterday, but this hasn't been enough to prevent this morning from getting off to another mostly sunny start.

The result of this is that a total of 12 minutes of sunshine has been recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 8am this morning.

Last night's overnight minimum temperature was 12.8°C.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 8am this morning was around 14°C.

Today has been very windy once again with maximum wind gusts at Edinburgh Gogarbank reaching 36.7 mph from the WSW.
There has been a lot of cloud at times during today and although there was also some sunshine at time, today wasn't as sunny as yesterday and in the end, a total of 5.7 hours of sunshine was recorded for today at Edinburgh Gogarbank.

There has also been a number of brief passing showers, but these haven't been as heavy during today as they were during yesterday which means that as at 9pm tonight, a total of just 0.8 mm of rain has been recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank along with nothing at all at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Today was also cooler than yesterday and today's maximum temperature at Edinburgh Gogarbank was just a rather disappointing 17.8°C and the temperature at 9pm tonight was around 13°C.

The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.
