So later on today and more significantly overnight it looks like storms will get going over some parts of the UK. Initial storms late afternoon coming up from France will be elevated, so not prodigious rainmakers but plenty of CC lightning. Quite localised, so not everywhere will see one, main areas later this afternoon likely to be central S England and SW England.
Through the evening and overnight more organised surface based storms may also develop in Midlands & Wales moving NNE, these more likely to produce rain, hail and CG strikes. These storms likely to track into N. England overnight and into Scotland by morning. In the SE/EA some localised elevated storms possible overnight and into morning, but again not likely to be big rainmakers.
