A big change in fortunes here in Lake Garda. Glorious sun today. Last couple of days reached around 22C with sun in the afternoon. Was in Limone in the north of the lake yesterday and it was the first sun there for five days. Shocking stuff.

Cirrus cloud cover making the sunshine very hazy, with occasional cumulus; light air, dry.

19*C; 55%RH.

1019.0mb steady.

No sign of rain in the next few days, and we could do with some around here.

Even though there is a fair bit of cirrus about, I will class this as a fine day with good sunshine all making the current 18 c & 70% pleasantly warm under a light onshore southerly breeze.

Wow what a temp drop!! i really wasn't expecting that!!

Just got the train from hilsea to fareham which is approx 5.5 miles west, and it must be a good 4 or 5 degrees cooler. Im now heading towards the gosport/ fareham boundary whixh happens to be less than a mile from the Met office official station at Gosport fleetlands where it apparently around 18.5C currently.

I've just been out to vote and I saw a rather unusual parhelion (sun dog) on the right-hand side of the sun in a patch of cirrus fibratus.  It was showing the spectral colours red, yellow, and a hint of blue, indicating that the ice crystals must have been very well aligned with each other over a substantial area of cloud.  (If the crystals are jumbled around, you just get a red colouration nearest the sun and the rest is white, as the spectral colours from larger angles of refraction superimpose and re-create white light.)  It was notable that there was no sign at all of an accompanying halo, providing evidence in support of my supposition that the crystals were not randomly oriented.

Todays high was 15.9C a few minutes ago, mostly rather cool and windy despite reasonable sunny spells.
