Hello folks,

Here's the week ahead forecast including the traditional Gavins Thoughts

A showery but quite warm start then cool and wet towards the end of the week.

Thanks as ever for your support and to Brian and the mods for making it happen!

Summer is around the corner but the outlook is far from summery Gav. I still think the SE could well be the place for an extended warm/hot spell some point during the summer with the rest of UK being decidedly average at best.

SC I've got to say with one week to go I'm really struggling with this Summer.

Thank you for your thoughts, Gavin. The mix is better than frost.

Others just get wet.

I think summers are even harder to forecast than winters.

To be honest Gav I don't think you will be far wrong if you go for average to below average temps and rather unsettled this year. It is not looking good this year.

My prediction is:

June: Temps average to just below average. Precipitation above average.

July: Temps near to average. Precipitation well above average.

August: Temps cool to very cool. Precipitation above average.

A very disappointing summer on the way in my view.

SC yes summer is the hardest season IMO as most of the "drivers" like QBO, ENSO etc don't "work" in Summer.

Thanks Moomin.

That would be a shocking Summer!

Thanks Gavin.  ALIWBM in places because of the murky conditions.  Looks as though you had to work a bit hard to get it in this week
