Coldest start to May since 1996 here, with a dreadful mean max of 9.4C so far Feels even colder as I don't recall 1996 being so dismally dull and windy as well. Colder than Christmas with the last week of December 2018 having recorded an average high of 10.4C and significantly colder than 12th to 27th February which averaged 12.2C. We haven't even had one day that warm so far this month. All concept of seasonality appears lost. At least with horrible cold Mays of the 60s, in particular 1962, 1965, 1968 and 1969 there had been proper winters beforehand and not just the same temperatures constantly for over half the year |
2010s - The Worst Decade for Heavy Snow (or any other type of extreme/interesting weather)
Years with at least 10cm of lying snow on at least one occasion:
