I thought Albertan's are use to these extremes? Or is it because it's wetter snow!??

Somewhat OT but on the theme of unexpectedly wetter snow, there is the story of a German architect who, having checked that the maximum snowfall to be expected in the UK was 15", designed a roof for Caffyns car showroom in Sevenoaks to cope with that. Alas, he was Bavarian, and assumed the snow would be dry. Come 26th April 1950 (yes, April) and there was a 15" fall of wet snow, the roof fell in, and the showroom was wrecked!
