Winter memories

Wintry weather in the UK has never been a certainty. Even during the 1960s and 1980s when cold winters were much more likely, there were still a number of years when little or no snow fell in southern parts of the UK. However, during the 1990s, for many parts of the south snow was often completely absent for years on end. what are your recollections of winters gone by? What would you like from the weather this winter?
