To have full access to the site your web browser will need to have cookies enabled and to support Javascript. Most modern web browsers such as Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Opera do by default. If your browser doesn't suport Javascript you will not be able to use features such as the Place or postcode picker, and many of the forecasts will not display correctly. If you do not have cookies enabled, settings will not be remembered, and you will need to enter forecast location, forecast units, whether to display the graphs etc everytime you use many of the pages on the site.
The icon weather foreecasts on the site are usually updated every 6 hours, every day of the year. They are based on data from the high resolution Global Forecast System (GFS) compute model. The discussion forecasts are regularly, usually on the following schedule.
Data from a number of computer models is made available. These include the Global Forecast System (GFS), Global Ensemble Forecast System (GEFS), Wave Watch 3(WW3), European Centre for Medium Range Weather Forecasting (ECWMF), and the GFS visibility model. The data is usually updated several times each day, and is made available on several site pages, including the Chart Viewer page which is available from the Data Menu.
Current weather reports for a range of UK locatons are recorded. A check for new reports is done every 30 or 45 minutes. The weather reports can be viewed on the Current and Archive pages available from the Data Menu.
There is a wide range of pages on the site which do not strictly fit into the forecast or data categories. These include hobbiest tools such as the Event Planner, Barbecue Planner, Forecast index (for Golf, Fishing, Cricket, Gardening and general outdoor activities) and the Astronomy conditions forecasts. Most of these pages are available from the Hobbies or TWO menus.
Last but not least is the TWO forum. This provides an opportunity for more in-depth discussion about the weather prospects. Click on the Forum link at the top of the page to take a look around, but to post on it you will need to register.
We have a mobile site gives quick and easy access to the most popular and used content we provide which includes the site homepage, postcode forecasts and TWO Buzz. Smartphone users are automatically directed to the mobile site, but can switch back to the desktop site providing browser has cookies enabled.
