The weekend will bring a good deal of dry and bright weather. Nonetheless the outlook remains changeable and next week there is the potent for heavy rain at times.
Friday starts bright in central and eastern England. Elsewhere it is cloudier and outbreaks of rain are affecting much of the north and west. Through the day overcast skies spread southeastwards but the outbreaks of rain become patchy. South eastern England should remain dry until this evening.
Temperatures in the east reach 21C (70F) but the wet areas remain several degrees cooler. It will be windy with gales in exposed parts of the north and west. See the rainfall radar for the latest view.
Tonight the patchy rain pushes into the south east. Clearer conditions follow from the northwest into much of the country by the end of the night.
Tomorrow morning starts off damp in the south eastern corner but it quickly brightens up. All areas then have warm sunny spells with just a few scattered showers in the north. Sunday gets off to a fine start during the course of the day cloud spreads in from the west. In the afternoon outbreaks of rain are expected to in Northern Ireland and they may reach western Britain.
