Rain lingers in the east

[Updated 06:45 24/07/2017]

Fair weather

Mixed weather is expected this week. There will be some warmer and drier days but all regions have rain at times.

Monday starts damp in central and eastern parts of England but elsewhere it is dry. Through the rest of the day patchy outbreaks of rain affect the east. Elsewhere it will be mostly dry and bright, although a few showers could break out in Scotland. The sunny conditions in the west slowly edge eastwards into central areas.

Maximum temperatures range from about 17C (63F) in the east to 23C (74F) in the west. It will be windy, especially in eastern England. See the rainfall radar for the latest view.

Tonight patchy rain continues in the east. Elsewhere a dry night is expected.

Tomorrow looks fine for most with warm sunny spells developing widely. Late in the day cloud builds in the west and outbreaks of rain return from the southwest during the night.

On Wednesday wet and windy weather pushes eastwards across all regions. The rain could be heavy and persistent, especially in northern regions. Clearer and drier weather returns into the west during the second half of the day.
