Hot start to the week

Fine weather

The early part of the week will be very warm but on Wednesday a thundery breakdown takes place. The second half of the week looks cooler and more changeable.

Monday is off to a fine start. Through the day sunny period continue but there will be some cloud around. It will be a very warm with temperatures ranging from 27C (81F) in the south to 19C (66F) in the far north west. See the UK observations map and rainfall radar for the latest.

Tonight it remains fine. In the south it will be quite warm and humid.

Tomorrow hot sunny spells develop and temperatures could edge above 30C (86F) in the south. During the afternoon thundery showers break out in south western England and overnight downpours are possible in much of southern and central Britain.

During Wednesday the thundery rain spreads into the north. Southern and central areas have hot sunny spells but there is a likelihood of thunderstorms. Buzz investigates the iffy outlook.
