The weekend look mixed with some wet weather around. On Monday and Tuesday a plume of hot air from southern Europe will send temperatures soaring but a thundery breakdown develops mid-week. In the longer term high pressure may build back in from the southwest to bring more fine weather.
This morning it's a mixed start. Many places are dry but there are patchy outbreaks of rain around. Through the course of the day showery rain spreads eastwards across England and Wales, but there will be a few blobs of blue in the sky too. Northern Ireland and Scotland remain damp and this afternoon persistent outbreaks of rain push in from the west.

Tonight showers push southeastwards into northern England and Wales. In the south and north it stays mostly dry.
Tomorrow the north has a dry and bright day. In the southern half of the UK light and patchy rain fades away and the begins to break. It will be warm in southern and central areas.
On Monday and Tuesday it is likely to become hot in the south and the warmth will spread northwards. Through the middle of the week a thundery breakdown takes place as low pressure pushes up from the south.
