The weekend brings more fine weather to the southern half of the UK but in the north it remains mixed. Next week cooler and changeable conditions return southwards.
The weekend starts dry but southern and central regions are mostly overcast. This morning sunny spells develop widely across northern England and Northern Ireland but there will be more cloud in the south than in recent days. During the afternoon the cloud in the south increasingly breaks leading to warm and bright periods. In Scotland cloud builds and rain pushes in from the west.
Temperatures range from 15C (59F) in the far north west to 27C (81F) in the south if the cloud melts away sufficiently. See the rainfall and lightning radar for the latest.
Tonight a patchy band of rain pushes southeastwards across Scotland and into Northern Ireland. Elsewhere it will be dry.
Tomorrow brings more fine and very warm weather to England and Wales, but scattered showers are break out and they could become thundery. Scotland and Northern Ireland have a cloudy day and wet day.
Early next week heavy showery bursts of rain spreads southeastwards across all regions. Buzz looks at the medium term prospects.
