Unsettled weather is expected this week with all regions having rain at times. High pressure could bring an improvement by the weekend and there are signs of drier spells next week.
The new working week is off to a mostly dry start but across Scotland and Northern Ireland there are scattered showers. This morning sunny spells develop widely but in the west it becomes overcast. Through the afternoon cloud extends over much of the country but the south east remains brighter. Outbreaks of rain push into Northern Ireland.
Temperatures range from about 15C (59F) in the north west to a warm 23C (73F) in the south east. See the rainfall radar for the latest.
Tonight wet weather spreads across Wales and much of the north of the UK. The south remains mostly dry.
Tomorrow rain continues in the north but it becomes more showery in the north west during the afternoon. After a dry start in the south heavy bursts of rain push up from the near continent late in the morning and through the afternoon.
Wednesday looks very wet in southern and central regions. The north probably has a drier and brighter day. Buzz takes a look at the mid term weather prospects.
