Heatwave continues today

Sunny weather

Hot weather continues in the south during the next few days. A change is expected later this week.

The new working starts dry and warm across most of the UK, but there is more cloud and some patchy rain in Scotland. This morning sunny periods develop but cloud begins to bubble up. In the afternoon isolated thundery showers break out but most places remain fine.

It will be very hot across England and Wales but cooler in Scotland and Northern Ireland. Temperatures in the south could hit 33C (91F). See the rainfall radar and UK weather report map for the latest.

Tonight it stays warm and very muggy in the south. In the north it will be a lot fresher.

Tomorrow brings more sunny weather but a few hefty showers are possible. The south has another very warm day but in the north and east it will be cooler.

On Wednesday the heat becomes more widespread and temperatures climb above 30C (86F) in southern and central regions. In the north and west heavy showery rain develops but the south and east remain fine.

By Thursday things begin to change. The hot air is pushed back into the continent and changeable weather starts to return. Friday and the weekend are expected to be cooler with a risk of showery rain. Nonetheless in sunny spells it should still be quite warm in the south. Buzz takes a look at the latest outlook.
