Very warm or hot weather is expected to continue in the south this week. In the north it will more mixed. 

Sunday is off to a mostly fine start. During the rest of the day sunny periods develop and it becomes very warm or hot in much of the country. The north west remains cloudier with patchy outbreaks of rain.

Temperatures yesterday nudged above 30C (86F) and today they could peak at 32C (90F) in the south. The north west remains cooler. See the rainfall radar and UK weather report map for the latest.

Tonight it stays overcast in the far north west with patchy outbreaks of rain. Other areas will be warm and dry.

Tomorrow brings more sunny and hot weather to England and Wales. Temperatures will be similar to today's. A few showers are possible, especially in the north.  

The rest of the week is expected to bring a good deal of fine weather to the south. In the north and west heavy showery outbreaks of rain are likely on Wednesday. The second half of the week should be fine and hot in the south and east. In the north west there is a risk of rain and this slowly spreads southeastwards through the weekend. The details are uncertain and the south could hang on to fine weather. Buzz takes a look at the latest outlook.
