Hot weather will develop this weekend. Next week it probably remains very warm but there is a risk of thunderstorms.
Friday begins overcast and damp in the north west, but elsewhere it's a dry. Through the day sunny spells develop in central and eastern areas but there will be more cloud in the west. Showery rain continues in the north west, and in western Scotland some heavy bursts are possible.

Tonight showers continue in the far north west. Other areas have a dry night with clear spells.
Tomorrow sunny periods develop widely and it becomes very warm. The far north west stays cloudier with some patchy rain. Sunday brings another fine day and temperatures continue rising. In the south a scorching 32C (90F) is possible!
Early next week thundery showers could break out as the warmest air is shunted back into the near continent. Nonetheless a good deal of fine weather is probable and in the south it remains very warm.
