Wet in the north today

[Updated 8:15 10/06/2017]

Fair weather

The outlook is quite mixed. The south has a good deal of dry weather but in the north it remains more changeable.

The weekend begins with rain affecting Wales, northern England and much of western Scotland. This morning the wet and windy conditions slowly push eastwards across the northern half of the UK. Southern and much of central England stay mostly dry, and in the south east some warm sunny spells develop. This afternoon brighter skies return to the north, but a band of rain stretches from south west up towards Yorkshire and Lincolnshire.

Temperatures range from about 15C (59F) in the north to 23C (74F) in the south east. See the rainfall radar and UK weather report map for the latest.

Tonight patchy rain spreads southeastwards and moves away. Central and northern areas have clear spells but it will be windy and a few showers are likely.

Tomorrow heavy showers affect much of the north. The south has a dry day with sunny spells and it will feel fresher than today.

The first half of next week brings more wet weather to northern and possibly central areas. The south should be mostly dry and increasingly warm. On Thursday patchy rain and cooler air may push southeastwards across all regions. Buzz looks at the change in the weather which is forecast for next week.
