[Updated 7:15 08/06/2017]

Fair weather

Much of the UK has further wet and windy weather in the short term. Summer is expected to return next week.

Thursday begins with outbreaks of rain in Northern Ireland, Wales, and western England. During the course of the day the wet weather pushes eastwards and it is followed in the west by showery conditions. The south eastern corner of England and much of Scotland probably remain mostly dry. It will be very windy across the southern half of the UK.

Temperatures range from about 12C (54F) in the north to 19C (66F) in the south east. See the rainfall radar and UK weather report map for the latest.

Tonight showers push eastwards across southern areas. In central and western Scotland more persistent outbreaks of rain are possible.

Tomorrow starts with showers but through the morning dry and bright spells develop. The afternoon sees thicker cloud building from the west, and overnight wet weather spreads northeastwards.

Saturday begins wet and windy weather in much of the country but it steadily turns brighter and showery from the west. On Sunday showers continue in the north but the south is expected to be mostly dry with warm sunny spells. Buzz looks at the likely change in the weather next week.
