The rest of the working week brings increasingly fine and warm weather. The Bank Holiday weekend prospects are less promising.
This morning starts dry and bright in the south, but across the north there is more cloud. The rest of the day brings warm spells of sunshine to much of the country but the north has cloudier skies at times. In western and northern Scotland there will be patchy outbreaks of rain.
Most of the UK will be very warm with temperatures ranging from 21C (70F) in eastern Scotland to 27C (81F) in the south. The north west remains cooler. See the rain radar for the latest view.
Tonight it stay fine with clear spells. It will be mild.
Tomorrow and Friday bring summery weather. Temperatures edge higher and it will feel increasingly hot.
Unfortunately an area of low pressure starts to shake things up on Saturday. Heavy outbreaks of rain probably push north across western regions, and thunderstorms could develop in the south. Sunday may be dry with warm sunny spells but late on wet weather could push into the south. On Bank Holiday Monday there is the potential for downpours to spread northwards.
