Big change on the way

[Updated 07:25 10/05/2017]

Frostyy weather

Wednesday begins very cold across England, Wales and Northern Ireland with a widespread frost. Change is on the way and in a week's time temperatures in the south could be a massive 25C higher than their lows this morning.

During the morning sunny spells develop widely but in Scotland it will be cloudier. This afternoon outbreaks of rain push into northern Scotland but elsewhere it stays dry and bright.

After the early morning chill temperatures climb quickly and probably reach 17C (63F) in the sun. See the postcode forecasts and rain radar for the latest view.

Tonight it remains cloudy in central and northern Scotland, and showers could affect south western England late on. Elsewhere clear periods lead to a local ground frost.

Tomorrow showery bursts of rain push up across southern southern and central counties. They will become heavy and thundery at times. The rest of the country has sunny periods.

On Friday wet weather pushes northwards into Scotland and thundery showers follow into the south. The weekend looks changeable too with showery conditions in all areas. In sunny spells it will feel warm.

Early next week spells of wet weather are likely, especially in the north west. As we head towards the middle of the week it could become very warm in the south east for a time. Buzz looks ahead to mid May.
