Dry and sunny in the west

[Updated 09:00 07/05/2017]

Fine weather

Sunday starts mostly dry but thicker cloud in parts of the east is bringing a few spots of rain. In sheltered northern locations there has been a touch of frost overnight.

Today little changes. Central and western regions have fine weather. The east remains cloudier and this brings the risk of drizzle at times, but brighter spells are likely too.

Temperatures range from about 12C (54F) in overcast areas to 18C (64F) in the west. See the postcode forecasts and rain radar for the latest view.

Tonight it will be mostly dry. Clear periods lead to quite a chilly night in the north.

During tomorrow and Tuesday it stays dry as high pressure holds on. The best weather continues to be in the west but all regions have sunny spells at times.

Through the rest of the week there are signs of a change developing. Temperatures rise but showery outbreaks of rain probably begin pushing up from the south. By next weekend there is a chance of the rain becoming heavy and thundery in the south. At this stage there is uncertainty and the wet weather could be quite hit and miss.

Buzz looks ahead to mid May.
