Wednesday is off to a cold start with a frost in places. Wintry showers are affecting the north and east.
Through the rest of the day the showers become focused on eastern and southern England. Elsewhere it should be mostly dry, but cloud increases in the north west and it could bring some light rain.
Temperatures remain low for April ranging from 5C (41F) in the north to 10C (50F). See the radar for the latest view.
Tonight it becomes dry in the south and under clear skies a frost is likely. Across the northern half of the UK cloud and patchy outbreaks of rain push southwards and it will be less cold.
Tomorrow rain affects much of the country with the heaviest and most persistent spells in the east. The north west should become mostly dry. By Friday drier conditions return, but a few showers are possible and temperatures will still be disappointing.
Latest guidance for the Bank Holiday weekend suggests a changeable picture. Saturday will probably be quite cloudy with showers at times. During Sunday wet weather reaches the south west and it spreads and erratically northeastwards through May Day. Buzz looks at the Bank Holiday weekend.
