Tuesday starts cold and there has been a widespread frost overnight. Locally in the north temperatures have fallen to -5C (23F).
Today much of the southern half of the UK remains dry. There will be sunny periods but isolated showers are possible in the south east. The north starts bright, however cloud builds and rain pushes into western Scotland.
Temperatures range from 8C (42F) to 13C (55F), north to south. See the radar for the latest view.
Tonight under clear skies a frost develops in rural parts of southern and central Britain. Cloud and patchy outbreaks of rain keep the north less cold.
Tomorrow a fragmenting band of rain spreads southwards into Northern Ireland and northern England. Brighter conditions return to Scotland, and southern England has a fine day.
During Thursday showers could become more widespread, but for most places the settled weather goes on. Friday sees outbreaks of rain pushing southwards across Scotland, but elsewhere it will be dry and warmer.
The weekend looks dry in central and western areas, but showers could affect the east. Temperatures are likely to be disappointing for late April. Buzz investigates the short term frost risk.
