Fine but short weekend

[Updated 06:50 25/03/2017]

The weekend will bring a lot of fine weather. Unfortunately there's one hour less than usual to enjoy it because the clocks go forward to British Summer Time (BST) at 1am tomorrow.

This morning begins with quite a widespread frost. Through the rest of the day there will be a good deal of sunshine. Once the early chill dissipates it will feel quite quite warm in most of the country, but along the south coast an easterly breeze keeps it cooler.

Temperatures widely reach the low teens celsius and values of 17C (63F) are possible in northern and western areas. See the UK weather report map for the latest view.

Tonight it stays dry but frost and mist return. Tomorrow it's a case of rinse and repeat. High pressure stays in control of the weather and another fine and warmish day unfolds.

The latest medium term guidance paints a more uncertain picture. The most probable outcome is for high pressure to bring more dry and pleasantly warm weather to the south and east during the first half of next week. Northern and western regions have an increasing risk of rain, and more conditions may push southeastwards through the second half of the week. Buzz looks ahead to the next couple of weeks.

Outdoor season

The outdoor season is here again. In the short term we've got the start of the F1 season, the Grand National and the Boat Races on the Thames in London. Our summer Event weather calendar is being updated and if you'd like something added please contact us

Ensembles at a glance

The 16 day GEFS shows dry and mild weather in the short term. By late March and early April more changeable conditions are favoured.
