Tuesday begins dry and chilly in much of the southern half of the UK. In the north it's showery, and a more persistent area of rain is affecting western Scotland.
Through the rest of the day showers become heavy in the west and they steadily filter eastwards. Some of the showers bring hail and thunder, and over high ground in the north they fall as snow. There will be sunny spells too, especially in the east.
Maximum temperatures range from about 6C (43F) in Scotland to 10C (52F) in the south. See the radar for the latest view.
Tonight wet weather pushes across Wales as well as western and northern England. Over high ground in the north snow accumulating snow is likely. Elsewhere it should be mostly dry and clear spells in the north lead to a sharp frost.
Tomorrow showery outbreaks of rain affect England and Wales, and over the northern hills there continues to be a risk of snow. Scotland and Northern Ireland have scattered showers but also a good deal of bright weather.
During Thursday and Friday the showers become increasingly confined to the south as high pressure builds over the north. Nighttime frosts continue but temperatures begin recovering in the south.
Through the weekend high pressure keeps things mostly dry. Eastern England could remain cooler and cloudier, but elsewhere it will feel pleasant in sunny spells. Buzz looks ahead to April.
The 16 day GEFS shows mostly dry and mild weather returning after a chilly and showery start. By early April more unsettled conditions return to the north west.
