[Updated 07:30 16/02/2017]

Daffodils in flower

Thursday begins with outbreaks of rain in the north west of the UK. Elsewhere it's mostly dry and quite mild.

Through the course of the day rain continues to affect Scotland and Northern Ireland. In the rest of the country scattered showers develop but a good deal of dry weather is expected. Cloud amounts vary but in the sunshine it will feel very pleasant

Temperatures range from 9C (48F) in Scotland to 13F (55F) in the south west. See the rainfall and precipitation type radar for the latest view.

Tonight patchy outbreaks of rain push into northern and central England. In the rest of the country it remains mostly dry and in locally in Scotland a touch of frost is likely.

Tomorrow patchy outbreaks of rain push into the south west. Central and eastern Britain have a dry day with sunny spells, once early mist and fog lifts. It remains mild.

Through the weekend the general theme is for high pressure to bring a good deal of dry weather to the south and east, with Atlantic disturbances keeping things wetter in the west. It stays very mild and during the days it could feel quite spring-like in the dry and sunny areas.

Early next week temperatures may rise even further. However, late in the week there are signs of it turning more unsettled and in the north it could become colder.

Buzz investigates.
