The new working week begins with a widespread frost and locally there is patchy fog. The next few days will see a change developing as high pressure builds over Scandinavia, but today it's an unsettled picture.
This morning heavy rain quickly reaches the south west. Through the course of the day it spreads northeastwards and over the northern hills snow is likely. Winds strengthen and in the north west severe gales are expected. The east stays dry for much of the day but wet weather arrives by the evening.
Temperatures range from 3C (36F) in Scotland to 8C (46F) in the south west. See the rainfall radar for the latest view.
Tonight it remains wet in northern and eastern areas. In the south west drier and clearer conditions return.
Tomorrow it stays overcast with patchy rain in the north and near the east coast. Elsewhere a mix of sunshine and showers develops.
By Wednesday the weather front begins to be pushed back westwards. This brings some light rain to the east and the possibility of a few flakes of snow as colder air filters in.
During Thursday and Friday an easterly flow becomes established and snow showers are possible in the east. It remains cold and mostly dry this weekend, but early next week the risk of more widespread rain and snow may increase. Buzz takes a look.
