The new working week begins dry across much of the UK and clear skies in Scotland have led to a widespread frost. To the south and west of London there is some patchy rain.
This morning rain becomes more persistent in the south west and through the afternoon it pushes across Northern Ireland, Wales and parts of western England. Other areas remain dry but cloud builds, apart from in Scotland where sunny spells continue through the day.
Top temperatures range from a cold 2C (36F) in Scotland to a mild 12C (54F) in the south west. See the rainfall and precipitation type radar for the latest view.
Tonight patchy outbreaks of rain move eastwards over England. In Northern Ireland and western Britain more persistent spells of rain arrive by the morning. Central and eastern Scotland have a dry night but with cloudy skies it will be less cold than recently.
Tomorrow wet weather spreads eastwards to affect much of the country. The rain will become persistent and heavy at times.
During the rest of the week it remains unsettled and there is a risk of very windy periods, especially in the west. It will be quite mild initially but during the weekend temperatures probably dip back towards the early February average. Buzz takes a look at the prospects.
