Thursday begins cold with temperatures below 0C (32F) in much of the country. It is cloudier and breezier than recent mornings so fog isn't a problem.
During the day sunny spells develop in places but there will be quite a lot of cloud cover. Locally this could be thick enough to produce a few spots of rain or flakes of snow. A south easterly wind which will be strongest in the west is set to make it feel very raw.
Top temperatures range from 1C (32F) in the east to 7C (45F) in Northern Ireland and south west England. See the rainfall and precipitation type radar for the latest view.
This evening frost returns to much of the UK. During the night some light rain or snow could develop in southern and central counties.
Tomorrow begins dry and cold for most but in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire there could be some patchy light rain or snow. Through the course of the day wet weather pushes northwards across England and Wales. Outbreaks of rain are also likely to affect Northern Ireland.
The weekend prospects look mixed. On Saturday rain spreads eastwards and is followed by showery conditions, some snow is possible over higher ground in the north. After a dry start on Sunday an area of wet weather may push northeastwards Next week it remains changeable. Buzz takes a look at the prospects.
