Tuesday starts dry and frosty in central and eastern England. In most other areas temperatures are above freezing point and there is some patchy rain in the north west.
During the rest of the day it stays dry in central and eastern areas with bright periods at times. Elsewhere there will be more cloud cover and in the north west this is likely to produce some light spells of rain.
Top temperatures range from 4C (39F) in the east to 10C (50F) in Northern Ireland and south west England. See the rainfall and precipitation type radar for the latest view.
Tonight frost returns to southern and central regions but in the north and west cloudier skies keep it less cold. Patchy spells of rain continue to affect the north west.
Tomorrow the southern half of the UK stays dry and cold. In the north west there will be more cloud cover and in the afternoon outbreaks of rain spread into Northern Ireland.
During the second half of the week a gradual transition to more unsettled weather takes place. Thursday is expected to be dry and it will feel very cold with a strengthening wind. Through Friday and the weekend all regions probably see rain at times and it slowly turns milder from the west. Changeable conditions are set to continue next week.

The 16 day GEFS ensemble shows rather cold weather in the short term. In the medium term it slowly turns milder and more unsettled with rain eventually reaching all regions.
