The new working weeks begins frosty in much of the country. The lowest temperatures are in the south with cloudier skies in parts of the north and west keeping it slightly less cold.
During the rest of the day it stays dry. In central and eastern England sunny spells develop but locally fog will be slow to clear. The west and north west have more cloud but there will be some bright spells.
Top temperatures range from a very cold 0C (32F) in localities where the fog doesn't lift to 9C (48F) in the south west. See the rainfall and precipitation type radar for the latest view.
Tonight a sharp frost returns to southern and central regions but in the north it will be less cold as cloud thickens. Across Northern Ireland and Scotland outbreaks of rain develop.
Tomorrow the southern half of the UK stays dry and cold. In the north west outbreaks of rain become lighter and patchier through the day.
During the middle part of the week little changes in central and eastern areas with further sunny days and cold nights. In Northern Ireland and the far west of Britain it becomes milder with a risk of rain at times. As we head into the weekend more unsettled weather may gradually spread southeastwards bringing the potential for rain to all regions.

The 16 day GEFS ensemble shows rather cold weather in the short term. In the medium term it slowly turns milder and more unsettled with rain eventually reaching all regions.
