Indications are that pressure will rise across much of the UK through the first part of this period, bringing a spell of rather more settled weather for many areas, with Atlantic depressions being steered to the northwest of Scotland. As we move towards October, rather more changeable conditions may take hold. The upshot of this is that throughout this period, southern and eastern areas stand the greatest chance of seeing the best of the drier and brighter conditions, with spells of rain most likely towards the north and west, where it may also be windy at times. Temperatures are likely to be close to average, but with warm days quite possible across southern areas especially, but consequently a greater chance of colder overnight temperatures and fog, especially in anticyclonic spells.

Not a bad outlook; once the equinox is past, it is good to see HP on the scene
Hopefully, the October fronts will not arrive

Don't want to tempt fate, but I can't see anything other than a decent early Autumn gale - fuelled by some ex-tropical air.
