18.6C with good sunny spells but we had a bit of patchy rain earlier.

The heather moors are just about at peak flowering so a good time to get up there if anyone has a mind to see it. 
The individual tiny flowers open over a period of about 6 weeks so the exact best period varies.
Later on if it's rainy the older flowers go brown and start to dilute the purple.

Lovely up here in Edinburgh, fresh and clear with a soft SW wind and well defined cumulus against a bright blue sky, warm too at 21 C already

Observations between 9.15 pm last night and 10 pm currently.

LAST NIGHT: Mainly clear, although I think more in the way of cloud cover built over in the small hours.
THIS MORNING: Murky and foggy at first, then the fog slowly lifted into as low ground as we wore on into the rest of the morning until eventually given way to clearer skies and sunshine (but still made hazy by high cloud).
THIS AFTERNOON: Decent sunny spells and variable cloud cover.
CURRENT: Fine and clear (just seen the 9.18 pm ISS fly pass!).         18.7 C.        87% humidity.      Dewpoint: 16.4 C.       Light west winds.          Flatlining at 1018.5 mb. 

WINDS: Moderate south west the whole time.
AIR QUALITY: Generally very good (but spoilt by the distinctive smell of burnt cheap sausages in the afternoon).
VISIBILITY: Very poor this morning, but much improved in afternoon.
COMFORT FACTOR: Although we have lost the worse of the humidity and heat, it still felt quite warm in the afternoon sunshine. Continuing dry where more grass areas are turning brown.
RAINFALL (in mm):     Nil.
TEMPERATURES (in C):        Max: 21.9 at 2 pm.         Min: 17.9 at 6.30 am.
PRESSURE (in mb):           Max: 1018.9 at 9 pm.        Min: 1014.0 at 10 pm last night.
