I'm slowly finding my feet in my new home and thought I'd share a few piccies I took a few days ago of my neighbours the local gannet population. This is about five minutes away from the house. There are quite a few youngsters amongst the adults as this is a breeding colony and the only time they come ashore is to breed. Looking at the youngsters they have a couple more weeks before they fledge and then head out into the Atlantic.

I'd get a noise abatement order!   And send grimebusters in to clear up the mess

It's just like my neighbours, except it's of the two-legged variety.

An excellent round of photos, Grant.

Amazing, the way they all pile on to the same lump of rock. If you found a boulder to put in your garden, do you think they'd see it as a sort of nestbox?

Wow!  I hope there's enough fish to feed them all.

Yup got some cracking views last month Chris. I'm heading out on one of their boat trips next month to see shearwaters and skuas! Should be great fun - I'm hoping the bird life can distract me from epic seasickness though
