Here are the charts for June. We ended up 0.5C below the 1971-2000 average.
But there was quite a difference between maximum and minimum temperatures. The minimum CET was exactly in line with the 1971-2000 average whereas the maximum was 1C below average.
The maximum CET was the coldest since 1991 and the equal 20th coldest since 1878
I think Philip Eden had it at 13.6C.
But the rest of the month - rainfall and sunshine. It was a really and truly terrible June.

The temperature didn't end up too bad considering the sunshine and rainfall amounts.
Locally we finished on 14.0c.
0.1c above the long term local mean.
CET annual competition – June update
So we are half way through the year. It generally remains very tight in the CET table but the top two have now opened up quite a gap. Those members with a star after their position in the table have reached their highest position of the year.
Brummie Snowman moves back to the top of the table for the second time this year. Martyn retains his second place for the third consecutive month. Martyn now has a gap of 0.6C to Dougie who has climbed eight places into third.
Another big climber this month is someone who finished fourth in the competition last year and is now at fourth place in 2012, Darren S. He climbs ten places this month.
Last month’s leader redmoons is down to fifth this time while The Professional holds steady in sixth. domma rises a couple of places to seventh and garybournemouth is down five to eighth. speckledjim and Trickster round out the top ten both falling two places.
The big climbers and fallers of the month are summarised below. At the bottom of the table Shez5690 moves up seven this month and Deep Powder rises nine leaving vince to prop up the table.

Quite satisfied with my performance overall.
I'm astonished that the last few days of the month saw such positive anomalies.
Proof, not that it was needed, that such statistics are purely comparative between themselves rather than providing any real, nationwide, impression of true weather conditions.
If the last few days have been anything other than average or below here then summer really is the new winter.

There's a few places round here Brummie who got June sunshine figures like that - I.e well under 100 hours for the month.
This is easily the worst June I have known and I would say the worst summer month I have ever experienced.
Here's a sobering thought.
Its the 5th consecutive summer month that has turned out below the 1961-90 average (Aug 2010, Jun 2011, Jul 2011, Aug 2011, Jun 2012).

Manston: 88% sunshine, -0.4C anomaly and 167% monthly rainfall, the vast majority of which fell in the first 12 days. Definitely a month of two halves down here but overall one which won't be remembered for much.
A shame that the last few days were again so warm. Hopefully next year will bring an 11 or 12c June
I do get the feeling we're going to get a VERY cool month before much longer. May would have been very cool except for the last week and now June has stopped being sub 13c by two or three days at the end of the month.
Sooner or later I reakon we're going to be a big negative anomaly month again.
