It was pretty good in the first half, less so in the second (a combination IMO of France getting tighter, and pressing the England players more in the second half, and fatigue setting in)
Bit of a low key bore draw but at this level, if it's progression you're after, it ws just the ticket.
Tentative signs perhaps that the new-look England will be built around a team of even ability players working together on getting the basics right rather than one or two exceptional players being propped-up by the mediocre majority. One could say that was a very 'German' performance last night
Surprised that Walcott didnt come on earlier. I would have thought that his speed would be very handy with people tiring. Maybe bring him on with 10/15 minutes left to allow him opportunity for 3 runs.
Ball retention was poor towards the end. Think this was partly due to how deep the midfield were. When someone got the ball there werent many people to pass forward to. Also, when balls ran loose or were half cleared then there was no England player there to try and get the ball. On the rare occasions when england did get forward then they were outnumbered, it seemed like England were only going forward with 2 or 3 people. Surely they could have been a bit more adventurous than that?

Yeah, struck me as a case of making sure that the players were getting the basics right - something to build on for later games and future tournaments.

Reminded me more of the England of the 1980s, where defence is paramount and the odd attack is a bonus.
Shame last night's other result didn't fall our way with a draw or a Swedish win. If you presume on the French to beat Ukraine, then our next two games will be against teams that need to beat us to stay in the competition.
Looks like more trouble may be kicking off between the russian and polish fans in warsaw
The pundits did indeed seem to mention Poland a lot, although I felt that Poland were the underdogs anyway which would seem to lend itself to mentioning them more.
Either way, both goals were good, although I thought that the Polish one was the best
Didn't get chance to watch it, but Isaw the second half of the England match and I thought the ITV pundits overrated our performance - though TBF it could have been because I missed the first half.
I agree cant remember a better tournament every game has been good so far, no outstanding team and theres probably 5 or 6 teams that could go on and win it.
Quite nasty scenes in Warsaw tonight well over a 100 arrested its going to be a long night for the Polish Police I think.
