Day 7 sees easterlies as low pressure deepens to the SW, followed by northerlies on day 8 as the low moves eastwards. Easterlies spread from the south on day 6, followed by a trough on day 7. Winds by then are NE'lies for Scotland and Northern Ireland, with southerlies elsewhere. Low pressure moves over Wales on day 8 and by day 9 the UK lies under lighter WNW'lies and a weak ridge.
