3°C with light rain, a clear sign that it's 15 days until summer ;)

A few on my friends in more inland parts of Aberdeenshire are reporting snow currently.

Morning,

A wintry feel to today. We have bright , wintry sunshine poking throught the cloud. 5.4mm of cold rain yesterday, 0.4mm so far today, so everything is damp. Further snow on the mainland mountains with a dusting on the hills around us - snow line probably about 250m, probably lower away from the coast. Winds have dropped from yesterday evening, so feeling marginally warmer than yesterday evening at about 1C just now. Still from the east though. Cloud cover is extensive, cloud base is above the mountain summits round here, visibility is very good.

Looks to have been a decent covering of snow to even quite low levels overnight, best looks to be around Dundreggan on the A887 traffic cam.

Here's the stats:

I don't think I've ever seen such a large expanse of drizzle on the Met radar!

So far it's that funny rain which looks worse on radar than it is here.
A few spots are falling but it's bright and occasional dampness evaporates from surfaces almost immediately.

Bright at times here in south Notts with faint sun disc visible but spots of rain all morning, not wetting the ground though. Sky has that chaotic mid-level summer thundery look about it  (although its only 10 C!)
