It felt quite mild earlier but the cloud murk drizzle has now descended.

I have absolutely no doubt tomorrow will be pretty much the same, maybe saturday will be dry before the dirge returns on sun pm and then the majority of next week.

Yes I was being serious. As a person who works outdoors for a living I am absolutely hacked off with this dogtulipweather we have had down here for the last five weeks or so. This is the south east of England, a drier and sunnier climate has to be some sort of compensation for living down here with all the overcrowding, higher prices, etc, etc, ......surely thats the case?

It has rained nearly everyday for the past five weeks...that is just not normal for this part of the world and it's just another sign that our weather events are becoming ever more severe!!

I simply cannot believe there are people on this forum who enjoy this sort of weather day after day, after day, after day ...ad finitum!!!

Was torrential rain overnight as well. This is turning into a dreadful spell of weather for the south east! It's supposed to be wall to wall sunshine and warm every day during spring down here isn't it? At least the weekend looks better!

Uh, 18C is bang on average for the South East of England at this time of year and I hope you're not being serious when you say it's supposed to be sunny very day down there during spring..

9.9C here, the temperature has actually fallen.. where the hell is this front?

6°C and wet. Another cool damp and generally unpleasant day. That's about 6 consecutive weeks now and the outlook is no better.

The snow is pelting it down on the mountains and higher hills currently and forecast to possibly drop a low level for a time later.

Observations between 8.15 pm last night and 8.15 pm currently.

LAST NIGHT: Cloudy with persistent and sometimes heavy rain the whole night. Foggy over high ground.
THIS MORNING: While the rain eased off and the fog lifted clear of the hills in the first half of the morning, it remained cloudy and overcast for the rest of the morning.
THIS AFTERNOON: Just the occasional chinks of brightness in what has been a generally overcast afternoon. There was an odd bit of light rain at around 5 pm.
CURRENT: Overcast.      14.2 C.     96% humidity.        Dewpoint: 13.5 C.       Moderate south west winds.       Steady at 1011.8 mb.

WINDS: Light south west the whole time, it was only in the past couple of hours it began to pick up a little.
AIR QUALITY: Very good.
VISIBILITY: Poor this morning, very good in afternoon.
COMFORT FACTOR: Damp, still and muggy all day after a wet start. The local snail and slug population are lapping it up!
RAINFALL (in mm):  8.8
TEMPERATURES (in mb):          Max: 14.9 at 11 am.           Min: 12.4 at 12.30 am last night.
PRESSURE (in mb):           Max: 1011.8 currently.           Min: 1007.8 at 5.30 am.

I dunno about everyone in here but I'm not really liking this "sickly" muggy mild conditions. It's having the effect of making me go all menopausal.
Unless I really am having some kind of mid-life crisis! Anyway, will bid my goodnights.

Predicting the weather is like making love to a beautiful woman - if you don't keep on top of things, or come up short, you might encounter hostile conditions later.
