We must of had far more rian than you guys on the Kent coast.
According to Met, we had over 10mm by 9pm last night and I know it rained all night and often mod/heavy rain.
All over here, much brighter things slowly drying out.

Sunny Southend.

Radar did suggest it pepped up around the Essex coast. Like others have said the sun is out, but a third of the back garden is flooded.

The wind is still really nasty out there. Lots of damage about so quite a storm for here. Temp up to 5.1 degrees now.

Very interesting to see a low pressure system heading West.

Haven't seen that in a while.

Could see the anticlockwose circulation and increase in size of the LOW on the rainfall radar most noticable hampshire round to cornwall.

Still raining with 10.8mm so far, heavier precipitation moving north.

Currently 3.9C and windy.

Since I wrote this the rainfall hasn't changed much, at 11.9mm, a lot less than some areas a few miles east, due to the heaviest of the rain fizzling out as it reaches here, for some unknown reason. About 3 miles west only 8mm of rain has fallen. Fails to beat the 18mm of rain that fell a few days ago, and just your standard rainy, windy day.. poor show NAE.

Eh?

BY 6am tomorrow NAE is forecasting that there will be between 15 and 23mm of rain in total around the Leeds area. Looking at the radar there are several hours of ppn to go. You are currently on course for something around the forecast totals.

I'll eat my hat if I reach 15mm. We must be looking at different radars then because the rainfall I'm looking at is moving north now and we're stuck under an area of light rain. At Osmondthorpe to the west of me there's only been 8mm, which is nowhere near the amount NAE was forecasting.

Disappointed that my monthly total still hasn't reached the 100mm mark!

26.4mm from this rainfall event, making the monthly total 95.8mm

Have a look at the NAE ppn accumulation for 6pm today on the current run. Leeds area is anything from 8 to 22, with only a small area in the 22mm. Seems very churlish to be declaring it a "poor show" given that forecast map, that's all.
