Temperatures into the 80s in weeks:

Just saw this on BBC Breakfast and had to comment on it..
We need some balance - wheres Madden when you need him
Ridiculous article with this line as the icing on the cake:
Forecasters said the next few days are likely to follow suit with Celsius temperatures three times higher than average.
Sadly the public seem to believe them and went for it, during the last not so cold spell when temps stay above freezing during the day, many staff was wearing hats indoors and then covered them up so thick when they went out thinking is -20C. I went to work without those except a jacket but wore a hat and scarf when I walked back home in the snowfall on Sat 4th Feb which I felt very hot because the temps was not so cold outside at 0-1C.
Maybe they could after past spring I wouldn't rule it out,
Forecaster Brian Gaze, of The Weather Outlook, said: “There’s a possibility of exceptionally mild weather again next week.”
Forecaster Helen Chivers said: “Mild weather is set to continue into next week and it will feel pleasant in any sunshine.”
Netweather forecaster Paul Michaelwhite said: “Recent springs have all seen high temperatures into the 20s and there’s no reason to expect it won’t happen this year.”
Mr Michaelwhite added: “Our spring charts also suggest a shortfall of rain for drought-affected areas.
Here's to another hot spring

Good call. Here's to a prolonged drought.
More importantly. Weather at Twickenham

I'll remind you of that when they start setting up standpipes in Brighton. Chalk aquifers along the South Coast are 20 (TWENTY!) metres down on the average level for this time of year and local reservoirs (which should be full) are typically only half full. See Gary's post following yours in the 'superdrought' thread for data.
I agree completely. The last thing we need is a hot dry spring (my comment that it was a good call was a poor attempt to be droll)

Funny how Gavin D has lambasted the Express all Autumn and Winter for it's articles on cold weather, but in a volte farce now sits square behind the same nonsense now that it is suggesting tabloid warm weather...

I just can't get my head around anyone ever reading 'The Express'. Hilarious.
It's surreal I can't understand why I keep coming across articles from the Express?
I've always done my best to avoid it.
Oh hang about since last summer someone has been filling this thread with it! That's why...
btw (since there doesn't seem to be any winter forecast threads lying around now, this seems as good a place as any to mention it) whose winter forecast stated:
?
Well done Brian (and I did comment at the time that I thought you may well prove accurate with that )
Indeed, you have to say that has turned out to be a very good long range forecast! presumably as with most LRF's a mixture of skill, expertise and a bit of luck! well done to Brian for not getting caught up with all the publicity seeking sensationalised forcecasts that we have to put up with courtesy of the Daily Express
Thats it I,m off to the bookies to bet on a foot of snow around mid march
You know something? That may be a pretty good bet.

Two options. One the Express stops writing nonsense. Two people stop reading it.
The snow part, not sure about a foot of the stuff though.
